Garry D. Yelton, 54 of Hanover formerly of Manchester, MD, passed peacefully Wednesday July 6, 2011 at the Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of 28 years to Patricia M. (Groft) Yelton, Hanover.
Born November 15, 1956 in Zanesville, OH, he was the son of Leslie and Bobbie Jean (Hill) Yelton of Westminster, MD.
Mr. Yelton was a member of Harvest Time Temple, Hanover. He was employed as a construction superintendent for Genesis Health Care, Towson, MD for 8 years. He was a member of the Baltimore Carpenter’s Union Local #101, Hanover Eagles #1406, Hanover Moose Lodge #227 and the New Oxford Social Club. Garry enjoyed planting flowers and loved spending time with his family and friends especially his two grandsons.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents is a daughter and a son: Sarah M. Bean and her husband Allan, Hanover; Benjamin D. Yelton, at home; Brother: Larry Yelton, Westminster, MD; also two grandsons: Tyler A. Bean and Dylan M. Bean.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Garry D. Yelton will be Monday, July 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331 with Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
