Leon R. Sax

Leon R. Sax, 27, of Hanover, died Friday, July 29, 2011 as a result of a construction site accident in Hanover, MD. He was the loving fiancée of Allyson James of Hanover, PA. Born March 10, 1984 in Cody, Wyoming, he was a son of Gerald D. and Deborah A. (Leipold) Sax of Hanover.

Leon was employed with L. R.Willson Construction, Gambriells, MD for the past three years after completing the Prince George’s Community College ABC Core Construction program. He was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan and enjoyed playing Madden Football on the computer. He also enjoyed cooking for friends and family. A good person with a big heart, Leon loved being a doting father to his son Dylan James Sax.

Additional survivors include seven siblings, Kenneth Sax, Hampstead, MD, Michael Sax, Cody, WY, Thomas Sax, Baltimore, MD, Steven Sax, Forrest Hill, MD, Robert Sax, Glen Arm, MD, Joseph Sax, Hanover and Lisa (Sax) Cogar, Hanover; his maternal grandparents, Walter J., Sr. and Mary (Lingg) Leipold, Hanover, paternal grandmother, Esther M. Boreson, Hanover and a number of aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Leon will be held at 11:00am Thursday from the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Fr. Joseph F. Gotwalt officiating. The family will receive friends for a time to share memories on Wednesday evening from 5 to 9 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Pallbearers will be, Ken Sax, Joe Sax, Taylor Hartnett, Brett Hartnett, Tim Cogar, Mike Luby, Jason Ohler and John Sinclair.
