Emma G. Fair, 93 of New Oxford and formerly of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford where she resided with her husband, Robert D. “Bob” Fair, Sr. Together they celebrated 74 years of marriage on January 27th. She was born December 8, 1919 in Fairfield the daughter of the late Roy David and Mary Sophia (Study) Gladhill.
Mrs. Fair was a member of Hanover First Church of God and enjoyed camping. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Betty L. Dubs and her husband Glenn, Hanover, daughter-in-laws, Melanie Fair, Lewes, DE and Carol Fair, Dover, DE, sisters, Alice Hartsock, Littlestown, Audrey Flynn and her husband John, Hanover and Betty Geiger, Hanover, brother, Robert Gladhill, Fayetteville, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Robert D. Fair, Jr. and Roy C. Fair, grandson, Douglas Dubs, sister, Mary Schneider and brother, George Gladhill
A service to celebrate the life of Emma G. Fair will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11 AM at Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Drive, Hanover with Pastor Jerry Shoap officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 6 to 9PM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover and on Friday from 10AM until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover. Serving as pallbearers will be John Fair, Nick Fair, Craig Dubs, Shawn Dubs, Glenn Dubs and Ken Hartsock. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Daniel Fair.
