Hanover
Anna F. (Wheat) Krauss, 96, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Homewood at Plum Creek. She was the loving wife of the late Carlyle A. Krauss, with whom she shared 70 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.
Born July 30, 1930, in Parkville, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Magness) Wheat.
Anna attended junior high school in Baltimore and graduated from Parkville High School in 1948. She devoted 30 years to raising her family and caring for their home before beginning a 20-year career in public relations with McCormick in Baltimore.
In retirement, Anna and Carlyle made their home in Pace, Florida, for 10 years before moving to Pennsylvania. Anna spent the past 20 years at Homewood at Plum Creek, where she enjoyed participating in arts and crafts, especially beadwork. She also found joy in attending chapel and listening to live music.
Anna is survived by her son, David C. Krauss, and his wife, Valerie; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, George Krauss; her daughter, Ann Marie Weiner; her brothers, Edward and Harold Wheat; and her sister, Naomi King.
There will be no public viewing. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
