Arthur J. Hoover, 77, of Glenville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at home.
Born February 16, 1944 in Hanover, he was the son of the late William McKinley and Esther Bell (Goodyear) Hoover.
Mr. Hoover served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a route driver for Martin's Potato Chips, Tom Sturgis and Thomas' English Muffins. After retiring, he had a food truck, The Burger Buggy", that he would park at Battlefield Harley Davidson, Gettysburg on the weekends. He had been a member of the Hanover Moose and the Hanover VFW.
He is survived by his son Chad Hoover and wife Sarah, Bel Air, MD; grandchildren, Peyton Hoover, Logan Hoover and Michael Nesline; brothers and sisters, Almina Motaka, Naomi Reimold, Susan Hoover, Richard Hoover, David Hoover and Eleanor Toddes and his beloved dog Diesel.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Hoover, Calvin Hoover and William Hoover, Jr. and sister Jane Rahe.
The family will receive friends and share memories on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with a memorial service to begin at 7 PM with Mike Forbes officiating. Full military honors conducted by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard will be rendered at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
