Avery L. Sollenberger, 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026 at his home.

Born on November 24, 1929, he was the son of the late Avery L. Sollenberger, Sr., who passed away in 1974, and Frances (Wingert) Sollenberger, who passed away in 1976.

Avery is survived by his beloved wife, Dena (Glick) Sollenberger; his children, Judy Smith and her husband, Glenn, of Stouffville, Ontario, Canada, Gary Sollenberger of Hanover, Luanne Hunsinger and her husband, Rich, of Hanover, Wendell Sollenberger of Hanover, and Sheila Harmon (daughter of the heart) and her husband Warren of Lancaster. He was a cherished grandfather to Adam Smith and his wife, Rebekah, Kayla Sheravan, Ashley Hunsinger, Skyler Hunsinger, Ryan Harmon, and Annie Wallace and her husband John; and a proud great-grandfather to Jacob, Eli, Asher, and Chandler, along with many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Avery was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Vernon Sollenberger and Kenneth Sollenberger; his brother, Chester Sollenberger, who passed away in 1990; and his sister, Bertha Heisey, who passed away in 2014.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2026, at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2026, at God's Missionary Church, 1285 Hoff Road, Hanover, PA 17331. Friends and family will be received at the church from 10 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be promptly at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Air Hill Brethren In Christ Cemetery, 7041 Cumberland Hwy, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
