Barbara A. (Kretz) Smiley, 65, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover. she was the loving wife of the late James H. Smiley who passed away April 17, 2021; together they shared 34 years of marriage.

Born October 27, 1956 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Donald H. and Shirley M. (Smith) Kretz.

Barbara was a loving woman who cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Desiree, Ethan, Johnathan and Briana Smith.

Barbara has been an employee of RH Sheppard a Bendix CVS Company for the past 17 years where she worked as an inspector.

Mrs. Smiley is survived by her children, Amy Smith and her husband Robert of Pell City, AL; Terry Smiley of Virginia; a brother, Christopher M. Bunty and his wife Amy of Hanover; a nephew, Jacob Bunty; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was proceeded in death by her son, Edward Smiley and two brothers, James E. Kretz and Donald H. Kretz, Jr.

Following cremation, A time to share memories with the family will be on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Barbara will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Miller officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Serving as urnbearers will be, Christopher M. Bunty, Ryan Smith, Ethan Smith, Jonathan Smith, Briana Smith and Jacob Bunty.
