Betty Jane (Gladhill) Geiger 96, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Columbia Cottage, Hanover PA.  Born February 19, 1929, in Iron Spring PA.  The daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Study) Gladhill.  The family later moved to Gettysburg where she attended school and graduated in 1946 from Gettysburg High School.

Betty and Manuel Geiger married, June 1974 in Elkton, MD.  They spent 28 years together before he passed in 2002.  They made their home in Dover, Delaware until they retired from Dover AF Base.

After working in local factories upon graduation high school, she joined the U.S. Air Force spending 3 years as an Aircraft Dispatcher at Waco, TX.  After returning home she then went to work for the U.S. Civil Service, Dover AFB as a Civil Service placement specialist for more than 30 years before retiring.

Traveling in their motorhome throughout US and Canada after retirement was one of her favorite things.  She also enjoyed gardening, NASCAR racing, the Game Show network and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by 1 sister, 6 step grandchildren, 12 step great-children, and many nieces and nephews, all whose company she enjoyed.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, York St. Hanover, PA.

The celebration of Betty's life will be held at 11 am, April 15, 2025, at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Steven Ostendorf officiating.  Visitation with the family will be from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA at a later date.
