Betty L. Lease (Wetzel), 92, of Gettysburg, formerly of Spring Grove, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Genesis Nursing Home. She was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband and two sons.

She was the wife of the late Charles Lease. They shared over 55 years of marriage until his passing in 2004.

Born Feb. 28, 1934, Betty was the daughter of the late Raymond G. and Margaret (Pifer) Wetzel-Walker.

She worked for many years as a seamstress, retiring from Danskin. Betty and her team made samples for one of the Olympics. Ultimately, they weren't chosen, but she was super proud of their work.

Betty's house was decorated with her beautiful cross stitch projects. The family enjoyed her sugar cakes and her coleslaw at family get-togethers.

Betty spent many hours working and preparing food for sales at the church. For their Saturday sales, she was a longtime member of St. Paul's Dub Church.

In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her two sons, Stephen Lease and Jeffrey Lease, and a sister, Mary Morelock.

She is survived by her brothers, Richard Wetzel (Pat) and Terry Wetzel (Lisa), a grandson, Tommy Lease, and a granddaughter, Tammy Hurtado.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
