Carl Henry Nace, 81 of Hanover passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at his home.
He was born April 18, 1940 to Clarence and Marie (Whisler) Nace.
Carl was a graduate of Eichelberger High School Class of 1958. He was a broom maker with Charles Griffin for 10 years. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Co. (Hanover Quarries) for 20 years.
Carl was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football. His joy was working outdoors, keeping his property in tip top condition, growing hay and corn, and growing a garden of delicious vegetables which he graciously shared with family and friends. He also enjoyed attending farm sales and auctions. Farming was his delight, caring for God's earth.
He is survived by his sister Myrtle (Nace) Satterfield, niece Ellen Shenk (Kevin), nephews Joel Satterfield (Jennifer), David Satterfield (Maryanne) and great niece Abby Shenk Schreffler (Robert) and great nephew, Matthew Shenk and great, great niece, Avery Schreffler.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Robert Satterfield.
A service to celebrate Carl's life will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church; 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Kathryn Vitalis Hoffman & Rev. Faye C. Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Friday from 10 am until the start of the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Shenk, Joel Satterfield, David Satterfield, Wendell Grove, Charles Seraydian, and Jerry Snyder.

The family expresses sincere thanks to the wonderful caregivers who showed compassion and loving care to Carl during his final weeks.
