Carol E.
Fadenrecht
Jan 20, 1948 — Mar 13, 2025
Carol E. (Henze) Fadenrecht, 77, of East Berlin, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 13, 2025. She was the devoted wife of the late B. Dwight Fadenrecht, with whom she shared 48 beautiful years of marriage before his passing in 2019.
Born on January 20, 1948, in Hanover, Carol was the beloved daughter of the late William F. and Helen M. (Trostle) Henze.
A woman of unwavering faith, Carol found great comfort in God's presence and saw His guiding hand in every aspect of life. She was a longtime listener of Christian hymns, with Amazing Grace holding a special place in her heart. In her earlier years, she attended Hanover Believers in Christ, formerly Hanover Brethren in Christ, and more recently, she worshiped at Trinity Lutheran Church in East Berlin.
Carol's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She had a remarkable green thumb and found peace in tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She also had a creative spirit, finding joy in painting and crafting.
Carol leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her son, John M. Fadenrecht and his wife Tracey of New Oxford; her daughter, Sarah E. Kelly of Carlisle; and her cherished grandchildren: Lindsay C. Fadenrecht of New Oxford, Brandon F. Fadenrecht of Pittsburgh, Benjamin W. Kelly of Gettysburg, Grace E. Kelly of York Springs, Anya M. Kelly of Carlisle, Ella R. Kelly of Biglerville, and Leia R. Kelly of Carlisle. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Eli, who brought her immense joy.
In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Henze.
In keeping with Carol's wishes, there will be no viewing. Following cremation, family and friends are invited to share memories and celebrate her life on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA 17331. A private burial of her urn will take place the following day with Rev. Susan McCarthy officiating.
To honor Carol's memory, the family welcomes all to a funeral luncheon on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 117 W. King St., East Berlin, PA 17316 for a time to gather, have refreshments, share stories, and find comfort in one another.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331, in gratitude for the compassionate care she received.
