Carol Louise Murray, 82, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover.

Born on Thursday, October 16, 1941, in Hanover, Carol was the cherished daughter of the late Watson E. and Margaret L. (Garrett) Murray.

Carol's journey began at Hampstead Elementary School and continued at North Carroll High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1959. With a thirst for knowledge and a commitment to her future, she earned a Business Certificate from Elizabethtown College in 1961. Her professional career blossomed at the South Western School District, where she served as a secretary and later at Emory H. Markle Intermediate School totaling together a remarkable 40-year career. She retired in 2001, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and kindness.

In 2006, Carol found a new home at Homewood at Plum Creek Retirement Center, where she continued to shine. She was a dedicated member of the Employee Appreciation Committee, always eager to support and uplift those around her. Her faith was an essential part of her life, and she was a devoted member of St. David Lutheran Church for many years. Carol served as a Sunday School teacher, imparting wisdom and love to younger generations, and as the church's financial secretary.
