Charles E. Matherly II, 34 of Hanover passed away on January 11 ^th , 2023.

Born August 11, 1988 in Gettysburg, he was a son of Allan W. Matherly, Sr. and Cindy H. (Knott) Little, and stepson of Douglas E. Little.

Mr. Matherly is fondly remembered as a very sociable young man with a smile that always lit up the room.  He also loved music and was an avid and talented drummer.  Charles always stayed "on the go", and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, especially when using his exceptional talent of cutting hair.  He was also an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens.  Most of all, he loved and adored his daughter, Leilani.

In addition to his parents and stepfather, Charles is survived by his daughter, Leilani M. Matherly of Hanover; two siblings: Allan W. Matherly, Jr. of Hanover and Samantha L. Matherly of West Virginia; two step-sisters: Melissa A. Matherly of New Oxford and Nicole E. Matherly of Greencastle; his maternal grandmother, Beverly L. Gilland; his step-grandparents, Paul J. and Sandra E. Little; his niece, Brooke E. Matherly, as well as many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles A. Knott and his paternal grandparents, Charles and Virginia Matherly.

A memorial service to celebrate Charles' life will be held at 7pm on Friday, March 3 ^rd at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover with Pastor Billy Stitely officiating.  A time to share memories and gather with the family will also be on Friday evening at the funeral home from 6pm until the start of the service.
