Charles R. "Charlie" Riggs, 76, of Hanover, passed peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019 at UPMC Pinnacle, Hanover.  He was the husband of Sandra "Sandy" (Sweene) Riggs for 45 years.

Born April 11, 1943 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Ralph E. and Bette E. (Jones) Riggs.

Charlie was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Hanover.  He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and New York Yankees fan.  Charlie also enjoyed the outdoors  and particularly liked gardening.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife Sandy, Mr. Riggs is survived by his daughter, Michelle L. Sunstrom and her husband Rusty and grandson Nevin Sunstrom of Glen Burnie, MD; also six siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Charlie Riggs will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 890 McCosh St., Hanover, PA with The Rev. Carenda Baker officiating.  The family will receive friends to share memories and express condolences from 10am until the time of the service Saturday at the church. A luncheon reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.
