Obituary

Charlotte G. Hartman, 95, of Hanover, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 at Transitions, Gettysburg.  She was the loving wife of Robert C. Hartman, Sr. who died January 12, 2012.

Born May 1, 1927 in Brushtown, she was the daughter of the late George D. and Clara (Bollinger) Geiselman; she was the last living Geiselman descendant.

Mrs. Hartman graduated in 1945 from Hanover High School and attended Thompson Business School, York. She was a homemaker and worked in the returns department at Double Day, Hanover.  Mrs. Hartman was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover where she and her sister Betty Reichert were co-coordinators of the PAL Lunch Program.  In addition to coordinating the PAL Program and serving lunch on Thursdays, she was a member of the women's chorus, the LCW and served on the Christian Fellowship Committee.  She also worked the soda stand at Pleasant Hill Fire Company for many years and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her children, Marsha Hartman, Elaine Sheely, Robert C. Hartman, Jr. and Scott Hartman and wife Ginny, all of Hanover; grandchildren, Adam Hartman and wife Jessica, Hanover, Amy Byers and husband Derek, McKnightstown, Michelle Booth and husband Andrew, York and Melissa Hartman, York; great grandchildren, Gavin, Kinsley, Kennedy, Grayson, Rowen and Dawson and brother-in-law, John Neiderer, Hanover.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Geiselman and sisters, Betty Reichert and Harriet Hoffman.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Charlotte G. Hartman will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 11 AM at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover with Rev. Faye C. Snyder officiating.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 6 to 8 PM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until the start of the service at the church.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.  Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Hartman, Derek Byers, Andrew Booth, David Trump, P. Matthew Meehan and Jeremy Meehan; her great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
