Obituary

Cortney S. (Smith) Reinhart, 38, of Columbia, SC, formerly of Hanover, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Born on Wednesday, September 17, 1986, in Hanover, she was the beloved daughter of Jerry and Monica S. (Monroe) Smith, both of Hanover.

Cortney was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend who cherished her family deeply. She had a kind and compassionate spirit, always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own. She attended South Western High School and had a lifelong love for animals, especially dolphins, and dreamed of becoming an oceanographer. Though life's challenges prevented her from pursuing that path, her curiosity and passion for the ocean never faded.

In her free time, Cortney found joy in reading, singing, and listening to music, with Mariah Carey being her favorite artist. Her love for music was a reflection of her soul, vibrant, expressive, and full of emotion. She had a remarkable ability to make those around her smile, offering comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.

Cortney is survived by her three cherished children, Ray Robles, AJ Robles, and Mariah Reinhart, all of Hanover; her four loving siblings, Jamie Bonner of Whitehall, MD, Jessica Roth and her companion Chris Dettinburn of Hanover, Samantha Kuhn and her husband Cory of Dover, and Dayne Smith and his companion Sallie Phillips of Hanover. She also leaves behind many adoring nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Russell and Patricia Staton; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Nadine Smith; and a close family friend, Kenneth Glacken.
