Obituary

Cynthia L. "Cindy" Henry, 65, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at UPMC Memorial. She was the devoted wife of Richard B. Henry, Jr. This coming September, they would have celebrated 47 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on November 27, 1959, in Staunton, Illinois, Cindy was the daughter of Arthur R. Thimsen of Westminster, Maryland, and the late Clara L. (Fischer) Thimsen.

As the daughter of an Air Force serviceman, Cindy spent her early years in Illinois and Germany before settling in Glen Burnie and later growing up in Carroll County, Maryland. As a teenager, she met the love of her life, Richard, while they were both working at a Honda dealership. They married in 1978 and together built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work.

Cindy was instrumental in helping her husband establish and operate their family business, Henry Motors, proudly serving the Hanover community for many years. She also worked at Walmart and served as an accountant at the Brethren Home. Most recently, she retired from working on January 1 of this year, looking forward to traveling and enjoying life with her husband. True to that plan, she had just returned from a memorable trip out west.

Cindy loved the outdoors and embraced every opportunity to enjoy nature. She had a deep appreciation for life, a close-knit bond with her family, and a warm, caring spirit that touched all who knew her.

Cindy is survived by her daughter, Jessica L. Wildasin and husband Josh of Thomasville; her son, Nicholas A. Henry and his companion Gina Rorrer of Stoverstown; six beloved grandchildren: Ashlyn Wildasin, Landon Henry, Evan Wildasin, Layla Mummert, Liam Henry, and Leah Henry; and one great-grandchild expected soon. She is also survived by her sister, Cheryl Nelson of Thomasville, and many loving extended family members and dear friends.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Thimsen, and her in-laws, Richard Sr. and Marian Henry.

Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate Cindy's life will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be private.
