Dale E. Bollinger, 86, of Hanover, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at UPMC Hanover Hospital. He was reunited in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Loretta (Bankert) Bollinger, who preceded him in death on December 12, 2006. Together, they shared 46 years of marriage filled with love and dedication.
Born on January 15, 1938, in Hanover, Dale was the son of the late Wilbert and Mary (Geasy) Bollinger. A lifelong resident of Hanover, he was a devoted member of St. Paul's (Dubs) Lutheran Church, where his faith was an essential part of his life.
Dale's hardworking spirit was evident throughout his career as a truck driver. He proudly drove for Hanover Wire Cloth and R. H. Crawford before retiring in 2000 from Consolidated Freightways. His colleagues knew him as a reliable and kindhearted individual, always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his loving son, Robert S. Bollinger, and his wife, Lynn; four cherished grandchildren; and five treasured great-grandchildren. Dale is also survived by his sister, Joan (Bollinger) Meissner, and her husband, Paul Meissner. He was preceded in death by his two daughters-in-law, Lee Ann Bollinger and Susan Bollinger.
In honoring Dale's wishes, there will be no public funeral services or visitation. A private burial will take place at St. Paul's (Dubs) Union Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Dale's memory may be made to the St. Paul's (Dubs) Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, c/o St. Paul's (Dubs) Union Church, 1958 Dubs Church Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
Dale will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, strong work ethic, and unwavering faith.
