Daniel Lee Winters, 78, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, entered God's eternal care Thursday, July 18, 2024, peacefully at home.

Born June 23, 1946, in Hanover, Dan was the son of the late Oscar and Sarah (Garrett) Winters. He was the loving husband of Sandy Winters with whom he shared 20 years of marriage.

Dan was a graduate of Hanover High School in the class of 1964. Following high school, Dan served his country proudly in the US Air Force. Later, he attended York College and received a Bachelor of Science in business in 1973.

Dan enjoyed being a farmer and maintained his career in agriculture for most of his life. He was a self-employed grower of corn, wheat, soybeans and green beans.  Dan also worked for Agricultural Commodities for several years.

Dan was a member of the Hanover Elks Lodge, the McSherrystown Moose Lodge, and the McSherrystown Home Association. He enjoyed working and spending time with his loving family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife, Sandy, Dan is survived by his daughter, Bethany So and her husband Brian of Chantilly, VA, his son, Scott Winters and wife Colleen of Sykesville, MD, and stepson Jeremy Diehl and wife Rosemary of Glen Rock. Dan is also survived by three grandchildren, Payton So, Paxton So, and Evelyn Diehl. Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Winters.
