Daniel E. Kurtz, 49 of York passed away peacefully at York Memorial Hospital on Friday, October 24, 2025.  He was the beloved husband of 17 years to Pamela S. (Gromling) Kurtz, whom he married on July 25, 2008 on the sands of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Born January 3, 1976 in Hanover, he was a son of David L. Kurtz, Sr. and the late Suzanne V. (McDermitt) Kurtz.

Mr. Kurtz is fondly remembered as a servant who was always helpful to everyone.  This trait was especially evident in his profession as a proud paramedic, and later a billing manager with Health Transport Partners.  Daniel also held the distinct title of Eagle Scout.  He loved rabbits, working outside and driving his tractor.  While serious about serving others, he was also an avid jokester with an enduring sense of humor.

In addition to his wife and his father, Daniel is survived by his son, Daniel E. Kurtz, Jr.; two siblings: David L. Kurtz, Jr. and wife Brandi of Hanover and Sandra L. Bowman and husband Scott of Hanover; one niece, six nephews, as well as many other loving extended family and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate Daniel's life will be held on Thursday, October 30th at 11am at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc: 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover with Pastor Zachary Stec officiating.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Thursday morning at the funeral home from 10am until the start of the service.
