David Paul Bortner, 80, of Thomasville, went home to meet Jesus on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Gloria Yvonne (Kemper) Bortner; together they shared 61 years of marriage.

Born on August 18, 1941 in Spring Grove, he was a son of the late Ervin M. and Hilda M. (Rohrbaugh) Bortner.

Dave's first job was with L. E. Baudin Shoe Factory in Hanover where he met his wife, Gloria. He and Gloria regularly attended Christ's American Baptist Church. His interests included: camping at Raystown Lake with friends and family, tractor shows and bluegrass music. In his early years, he enjoyed riding his Yamaha 360 dirt bike, bicycling, sprint car racing and NASCAR. The family would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to Dave's caregivers, Yasmin Cartagena and Barbara Fisher, for their love and support and the wonderful care they provided to him and his family over the past several months.
