David H. Nichols, 67 of Hanover passed away at home on Friday, May 24, 2024.
Born April 29, 1957, he was a son of the late Herbert L. and Esther M. (Riley) Nichols.
David is fondly remembered as an incredibly talented artist who enjoying sharing his work and giving them as gifts to family and friends. His professional career was as an expert mason. He worked for IWM International in Hanover for 13 years. He was also a skilled dart player, as well as a musician who had gifts for guitar, piano and harmonica. He also loved animals, especially his cats, and will be most notably remembered for his great sense of humor and story-telling abilities.
Mr. Nichols is survived by six siblings: Diana Jean Frymyer, Ruth Newman, Kathy Nichols, Susan Cerame, Steve Nichols and Pamela Nichols, his dear friend, Bonnie Stiffler as well as his two beloved cats.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Nichols.
A funeral service to celebrate David's life will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 30th at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover with Pastor Bill Mummert officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday, May 29th at the funeral home from 6-8pm, and again on Thursday morning from 10am until the start of the service.
