David M. Stambaugh, 76, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover. He was the loving husband of Dawn M. (Small) Stambaugh; together they shared 26 years of marriage.

Born September 27, 1945 in Gettysburg, he was a son of the late Jacob F. and Laura E. (Bittle) Stambaugh.

David was a loving husband, father, brother and friend; he cherished his family and loved spending time with them. In his free time Mr. Stambaugh enjoyed hunting and farming.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by five children, Cheryl Kress and her husband Doug of New Oxford, David "Doug" Stambaugh and his wife Jackie of Hanover, Peggy Barndt and her wife Heather of Gettysburg, Steven Stambaugh and his girlfriend Ashley Santoyo of Hanover, Leanne Bowman and her husband John of McSherrystown. Mr. Stambaugh is also survived by several loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by several siblings.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Stambaugh will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. David L. DeLong officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and then again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown. Pallbearers will be; David "Doug" Stambaugh, Steven Stambaugh, John Bowman, Brandin Stambaugh, Ed Mann and Greg Bahn.
