David G. Warehime, Sr. 76 of Hanover passed away peacefully at Hanover Hospital on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Judy D. (Reed) Warehime.
Born September 28, 1947 in Silver Run, MD, he was a son of the late Roy G. and Grace I. (Wentz) Warehime.
Mr. Warehime is fondly remembered as a loving husband and family man with a beautiful heart and a kind, helpful spirit. He especially loved taking his grandchildren on tractor rides. David was a professional dumptruck driver by trade, serving a 32 year career with CJ Miller. A skilled carpenter, he also enjoyed crafts and woodworking in his free time. Along with his beloved wife, Judy, Mr. Warehime regularly attended Harvest Time Chapel in Hanover.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by four children: David G. Warehime, Jr. of Hanover, Connie L. Strausbaugh of Hanover, Jerry D. Warehime of Dover and Robin G. Altland and her husband Tom of Gardners; 12 grandchildren: Sabrina, Miranda, Ashley, Alyssa, Aleah, Ayden, Devin, Ethan, Thomas, Timothy, Trevor and Lauren; nine great-grandchildren: Colbee, Caleb, Mackenzie, Mason, Camden, Brayden, Chandler, Harmony and Lincoln; two siblings: Elizabeth Lippy and Walter Warehime, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Roy, Robert and Joseph.
A funeral service to celebrate David's life will held at 11am on Thursday, February 22nd at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover with Pastor Kevin Wartluft officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hanover. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Thursday at the funeral home from 10am until the start of the service.
