Deborah Ann Bechtel, 49, of Hanover, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at WellSpan York Hospital.

She was born June 15, 1971 in Hanover, the daughter of Susan M. (Neiderer) Bechtel, Hanover and the late Wilbur H. Bechtel.

Deborah graduated from Delone Catholic High School, Class of 1989 and was a manger with Shoney's Restaurant in Gettysburg, Hanover and Westminster.  She enjoyed NASCAR and was a fan of Dale Earnhart, Jr. and Chase Elliott.

In addition to her mother, Deborah is survived by her son, Troy Wagaman, Jr., Hanover and her brother Wilbur H. Bechtel, II, Hanover.

Family and friends will meet at 8:30 AM Tuesday, May 18, 2021 to process to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third St., Hanover for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM with Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt, celebrant.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover.  Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery, Hanover.  Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Wagaman, Jr., Wilbur H. Bechtel, Jr., Aaron Staub, Greg Staub, Mitch Staub and Trisha Warner.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines and in compliance with health and public safety directives, those attending the services will be required to wear a face covering and follow social distancing protocols.  Attendance inside the funeral home and church will be limited.
