Deborah A. (Johnson) Garrett, 59 of Hanover passed away peacefully at UPMC West Shore in Mechanicsburg on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

Born August 22, 1964 in West Chester, PA, she was a daughter of the late Odas and Patricia A. (Gladfelter) Johnson.

Deborah was a proud veteran who served our country in the Army National Guard.  Following her military service, she embarked on a criminal justice career as a corrections officer.  In her free time, she created works of art as a painter and also enjoyed fishing, spending time at the ocean, as well as listening to various genres of music.

Her memory will be cherished and carried on by her partner, Jessica Ilc of Hanover; two children: Chauncey A. Garrett and his wife Cheyenne of East Berlin and Courtney R. Torres of Duncannon; two grandchildren: Paisley V. Garrett and Joshua D. Torres; her sister, Kimberly Diehl, as well as many loving nieces, family and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate Deborah's life will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 13th at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover.  Interment will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 12th from 5-7 pm, and again on Thursday afternoon from 12 noon until the start of the service.
