Diana was born on May 22, 1946 in Somerset, PA and lived in Edie, PA. She was the
daughter of the late Earl William Bisel and Mary Elizabeth (Hoffman) Bisel. She graduated from
Somerset Area High School in 1964. While in Somerset, she had an internship to work with
Judge Lansberry in the Court House, J & J Newberry and at Mardis Ford dealership for 4 years.
After her husband graduated from Lock Haven State College in 1967. They moved to
Manchester, MD for 3 years, and then built a house in Hanover in 1970 and lived there for the
rest of her life. While living here in Hanover, she and her husband joined Black Rock Church of
the Brethren. She worked at various jobs- J.C. Penny's on the square, Random House, Inc. ,
Black and Decker in Hampstead and then worked at Chatsworth School in Baltimore County
for 34 years until retirement in 2008.
After building an addition to the house in 1976, the family went camping over the course of
37 years with Kemper's, Barnhart's, Baker's, Fry's and the Day's and many other friends. Our
family traveled in 38 states and her favorite places were Myrtle Beach and Disney World. In
1986, Duane and Diana, along with 3 other couples, went to Hawaii to celebrate all of their 25th
anniversaries.
She enjoyed spending time, making crafts and sharing stories with the homemaker club.
She also enjoyed walking and spending time with the walking group ladies. She was involved
in church activities - summer lunch program, school kits, cleaning buckets, hygiene kits,
trucker cookies, and helping in the kitchen with many events and at PAL. Most of all she
enjoyed organizing and planning many family activities, spending time with family and friends,
attending reunions, sport events and musical events.
She touched many lives and lived a full life over her 78 years on Earth. Every day with her
was a blessing. She always had a smile on her face and in her eyes. She never hesitated to be
there for anyone. She will be sadly missed and will live in the hearts and memories of her family
and friends.
