Dixie Lee Mong, 77 of Hanover, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital.  She was married 58 years to her husband Robert E. Mong.

Born February 19, 1946 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Grover L. and Mary E. (Zinn) Therit.

Dixie worked for Kapp Advertising (Merchandiser) for over 23 years.  She was a member of the Hanover Moose #227 where she enjoyed socializing and listening to the bands, especially with her sister Mary.  She enjoyed going out to dinner with family and friends, "loved to be pampered", enjoyed playing Bingo and watching dirt track racing.

Even if Dixie (Mam) was upset she was always there when you needed her regardless of the circumstances.

In addition to her husband Robert, Dixie is survived by her children; Melissa Wetherington and husband Steve of Rockledge, FL, Melinda Geiman and her husband Tony of Hanover, PA, Kevin Mong and wife Denise of Bonneauville, PA, and Dixie Rishel and husband Dennis of Gettysburg, PA, a sister Mary Strausbaugh of Waynesboro, PA, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild is expected soon.

In addition to her parents Dixie was preceded in death by her 10 siblings.

Dixie appreciated all the help she received in their home from a family friend Jody Klinedinst.

Funeral services for Dixie will be held at 7 pm on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St. Hanover, PA with pastors Ron and Missy Parr of Mountain Top Ministries, Orrtanna, PA officiating.  A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be Friday, 5-7 pm before the service.
