Dolores M. (Smith) Aumen, 83 of Hanover passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 2, 2023.
Born January 20, 1939 in New Oxford, she was a daughter of the late John and Grace M. (Dull) Smith.
Dolores is fondly remembered for her dedication to her family, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. After retiring from a 30 year career at Sonoco Product, she then worked for 15 years at Action Truck. Her co-workers were like extended family to her. She also enjoyed cleaning, reading and cheering for Penn State and the Steelers. She also loved watching her favorite show, the Golden Girls.
Dolores is survived by three children: Adrian A. Aumen of Hanover, Anthony L. Aumen and his wife, Teresa of Hanover and Victoria Aumen-Bair (wife of the late Clifford) of New Oxford; eight grandchildren: Joshua D. Aumen and his wife, Stephanie, Maxwell D. Whisler and his companion, Bri, Anabelle G. Wildasin and her companion, Colby, Luke Aumen, Jake Aumen, Hank J. Baugher and his wife, Laura, Derrick E. Baugher and his wife, Erica and Matthew D. Aumen and his wife, Sonia; seven great-grandchildren: Nataliegh, Brooklyn, Waylon, Macie, Caylee, Parker and Peyton, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Aumen, as well as three siblings: John Smith, Tom Smith and Shirley Krietz.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Dolores' life will be held on Friday, January 6 th at 11am at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 220 N. 3 rd St. in Hanover with Rev. Michael P. Reid, II officiating. Interment will follow in Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in McSherrystown. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday, January 5 th form 6-8pm at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover.
