Doris Mae Mann, 90 of Hanover, passed away on Thursday, December 20 th at home surrounded by her devoted family. She was the loving wife of the late Walter J. Mann.
Born January 24 th , 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen Bennett and was raised by the late Charles and Dorothy Williams.
Doris was a USO dancer in her early years and enjoyed traveling, shopping, watching old western films and classic Hollywood movies, wearing beautiful jewelry, getting her nails done and hanging out with family and friends. She loved people and had a contagious laugh and an unstoppable zest for life.
Doris is survived by her six children, Doris Allen of Ormond Beach, FL, Diane Myers and her former husband of Dallastown, Donna Prall of York, Angel Dawn Newman and husband Gary of Hanover, her sons, Walter Joseph Mann, Jr. of Hanover, and William Lincoln Mann of Hanover; grandchildren, Robin Allen and husband V. J. Foster, Dana Allen and husband Bill Klingbeil, Ryan S. Myers, Landon R. Myers and wife Carly, Dayne D. Prall and wife Kelsey, Michael Newman and wife Shalena, and Erica Marie Jackson and husband David; two step-grandchildren, Kyle and Katelin Nogle; great-grandchildren, Logan, Jade, Liam, Easton, Rylan, Caleb, Mallory, Savannah, Nalaya, Blakely, and Braeden.
In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Rhona Mann.
There will be no public viewing; following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate the life of Doris will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the St. Jacobs Lutheran Church, 3444 Sticks Road, Glen Rock, PA with Rev. Paula L. Murray officiating.
In honor of Doris, donations can be made to her favorite charities: New Hope Missionary and St Jude's Children's Hospital.
