Dorothy J. "Dottie" Bortner Memorial Video

Dorothy J. "Dottie" (Orndorff) Bortner, 80, of York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Manor Care North in York.

Born June 6, 1941 at her home in Hanover in Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond P. and Esther R. (Riley) Orndorff.

Dottie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she loved her family and cherished spending time with them, especially her grandson and two great grandsons. She loved drawing, painting, reading true crime books and on Sunday afternoons, she enjoyed getting lunch and playing Qwirkle with her family and friends. Dottie was a member of St Jacobs (Stone) UCC in Glenville.

Dottie is survived by a daughter, Michele Trump and her husband Jeffrey of Abbottstown; a grandson, Chad Bish and his wife Janice of Spring Grove; two great grandsons, Levi and Samuel Bish of Spring Grove; a brother, Ronald Orndorff and his wife Rosie; a sister-in-law, Patricia Orndorff of Hanover; a son-in law Bret Bates of York. Dottie is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Bates and two brothers, Richard P. Orndorff and his wife Margie and Terry L. Orndorff.

A service to celebrate the life of Dottie will be held at 4 p.m. on January 28, 2022 at the All-Purpose Building at the Ben Franklin RV Park, 1350 Woodberry Rd., York, PA with Rev. Kevin D. Orewiler officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be on Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of service at All-Purpose Building. Burial will be private.
