Duane R.
Diehl
Sep 25, 1958 — Nov 15, 2024
Duane R. Diehl, 66, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024, at UPMC Hanover, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the devoted husband of Pamela A. (Worley) Diehl, with whom he shared 15 wonderful years of marriage, though their love story began in the late 1990s.
Born on Thursday, September 25, 1958, in Manns Choice, Pennsylvania, Duane was a beloved son of the late Paul R. and Florence L. (Hillegass) Diehl. Duane's life was marked by his love for the outdoors; he was an avid hunter who cherished time spent in nature. His greatest joy, however, came from the moments shared with family and friends. A proud and passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Duane never missed a chance to cheer on his team, often surrounded by those he loved.
Duane's legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Matthew Diehl and wife Amanda of York Springs, and Blake Diehl and wife Lindsey of Dillsburg; his daughter, Carrie Stuart and husband Craig of East Berlin; and his cherished grandchildren: Gretchen, Kapri, and Bennett Diehl, and Carter, Cole, Chloe, and Carley Stuart. Duane will also be deeply missed by his sisters, Charlotte Sites, Shirley (Rich) Neely, and Paula Diehl, all of Gettysburg, and his brother, David (Peg) Diehl of Aspers. His memory will be treasured by many loving extended family members and friends.
In honoring Duane's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Family and friends are invited to share memories and pay their respects during a viewing to be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA 17331.
