Edith M. (Haines) Bowman, 92, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late Walter R. "Jim" Bowman who passed away in 2004. Together they shared 55 years of marriage.
Born September 13, 1928 in Manheim Township, she was a daughter of the late Luther C. and Johanna (Smith) Haines.
Edith was a long-time member of Grace United Church of Christ and enjoyed being outside in nature and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Bowman graduated from Manchester High School in Manchester, MD in 1946 and then went on to work for many years at Middleburg Manufacturing and then retired from Hanover House/ Hanover Direct.
Edith is survived by three children, Linda K. Bixler and her husband Craig of Hanover, James R. Bowman of Littleton, CO, Stanley L. Bowman of Hanover; a son-in-law, Robert Staub of Hanover, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends and extended family members.
In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her daughter, Sonia F. Staub, three brothers and four sisters.

A service to celebrate the life of Edith Bowman will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
