Edmund "Ed" Homer Stambaugh, 61, of Glenville, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Thursday, July 11, 2024.
Born October 27, 1962, in Hanover, PA, Edmund was the son of Homer S. Stambaugh and the late Virginia (Wiles) Stambaugh.
Ed graduated from South Western High School in the class of 1982.
Ed worked as a tire mechanic at L & M Tire in Abbottstown for over 30 years.
He was a member of St. David's United Church of Christ.
In his free time, Ed enjoyed working on cars and going to car shows. His notable accomplishments include the restoration, building and painting of a Chevy 1500 square body.
Ed was a member of the New Oxford Social Club. He liked to go fishing, play cards, spend time with his loving family, and going out to breakfast with his friends.
In addition to his father, Homer S. Stambaugh, Edmund is survived by his three children; Ethan Stambaugh of York, PA, Jordan Stambaugh of Painesville, Ohio, and Emily Stambaugh of Glenville, PA, and one grandson, Josiah Stambaugh of York. Ed also leaves behind his siblings, Deborah J. Martin of Port Matilda, PA, Carolyn L. Leppo and Vicky Kise, both of Hanover, Gary A. Stambaugh of Manchester, MD, Judy L. Groft of Hanover, and Scot W. Stambaugh of Glenville.
Ed was preceded in death by three sisters: Susan Lawrence, Rebecca Wagaman, and Linda Whisnant.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Ed's life will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at St. David's United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331, with his Pastor, Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will be in St. David's Cemetery. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be from 10 AM to 11 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, also at the church.
For those desiring, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made either to St. David's United Church of Christ, or to the funeral home to help defray the costs of the arrangements.
