Edward "Ed" Stephen Hoffheins, 77, of Hanover, PA, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at home.

Born December 6, 1947, Ed was son to the late Lester Carroll and Ruth Emma (Slothour) Hoffheins.  Ed was the loving husband of Linda Lee (Rorrer) Hoffheins, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Ed was a graduate of Hanover High School class of 1965. Ed worked as an operator in the shipping department at P.H. Glatfelter paper mill in Spring Grove until his retirement.

In his free time, Ed enjoyed collecting Winross trucks and was a member of the Train Collectors Association. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and movies, especially of the action and horror genres. Most of all, Ed enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

In addition to his wife Linda, Ed is survived by two daughters: Melissa Jane Winfrey of Hanover, and Holly Lynn Bitler and husband Kevin of East Berlin. Ed is also survived by a special niece, Briahna Rorrer.  Ed was preceded in death by two siblings, his brother Darrell Hoffheins on November 30, 2005, and his sister Delores M. Smith on January 8, 2017.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making memorial contributions in honor of Ed to the Visiting Nurses Association of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
