Edward C. Snyder, 88, of East Berlin and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Gettysburg Hospital.

He was born September 15, 1930 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of the late George Raymond, Sr. and Jane Ann (McCullough) Snyder.

Edward was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.  He was a 56 year employee of Bell Telephone/Verizon, Philadelphia.  His hobbies were radios, computers and electronics.

He is survived by his nieces; Linda J. Menchey of Hanover and Jane A. Snyder of East Berlin; his grand nephews, Richard A. Wall and his son, Zachary T. Wiseman of Hanover and Ryan A. Wall and wife Jen and their daughter, Addison of East Berlin.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his brother, George R. Snyder, Jr.

A service to celebrate the life of Edward C. Snyder will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 11 AM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with Rev. David L. DeLong officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until the start of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial with full military honors will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA.  Edward will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
