Elaine J. (Lillich) Mummert, 85 of Hanover passed away peacefully at Homewood Plum Creek on Saturday, October 3, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late David L. Mummert who passed away October 15, 1994.

Born September 24, 1941 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Daniel C. and Marie A. (Bowman) Lillich.

Mrs. Mummert is fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Dubs Church in Hanover. In her career, she spent over 30 years as an Avon Cosmetics Representative. Additionally, she was an avid fan of Michael Landon and especially enjoyed watching him in Highway to Heaven and Little House on the Prairie.

Elaine is survived by her son, Neil D. Mummert and wife Nicole of Hanover; grandchildren, Makenna and Matthew; siblings, Shirley Hurst and Gordon Lillich and wife Terri; sister-in-law, Carol Lillich (wife of the late Michael); nephews Doug, Todd, Joe, Sam, Craig, Henry, Chad and Alan; her niece, Danielle, as well as many other loving extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Lillich and her sister-in-law, Sharon Kline.

A funeral service to celebrate Elaine’s life will be held at 10am on Friday, October 9th at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover. Interment will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover. A time for visitation with the family and an opportunity to view will also be on Friday morning at the funeral home from 9am until the start of the service.
