Elizabeth Myers Moffitt, 98 of Hanover, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 11 ^th 2022 at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late John Harper Moffitt, Sr.

Born on July 9 ^th , 1924 in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Carl Hummell and Tina Kathryn (Prosser) Myers.

Elizabeth was a seamstress for many years and enjoyed working with her hands. Outside of working and into retirement she liked wood crafting, oil painting, and ceramics. She frequently spent time outdoors whether she was camping, gardening or working outside. Mrs. Moffitt was a lover of animals. She collected horse figurines and cared for her beloved cat, Ruby. Her family recalls every vacation she took she had to find a nearby zoo to visit. Elizabeth collected decorations and she loved to decorate her home for the holidays, especially Christmas. Mrs. Moffitt was an active member of the Hope Baptist Church and formerly, for many years, a member of the First Church of God. Above all, family came first for Elizabeth. Friday night was game night where the family came together to play card games, she was particularly fond of the card game Golf.

Elizabeth is survived by her six children: daughters; Betty Kline and her husband the late Robert Kline, of Lewisberry, PA; Tina Miller and husband Terry of Abbottstown, PA; and Evelyn Sites- Good and husband Ronald of Hanover, PA. Her sons; Larry Moffitt, Sr. and wife Anita of Hanover, PA; John Moffitt, Jr. and wife Linda of Felton, PA; and Edward Moffitt of Gloucester, VA. She is also survived by one of her sisters, Henrietta Eckert, and numerous numbers of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. Elizabeth was loved by many.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters, multiple grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Moffitt will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 17 ^th 2022 at the Hope Baptist Church, 6450 Hope Way in Hanover, PA with Pastor Allen Harris officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Friday, September 16 ^th 2022 from 6:00pm – 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, September 17 ^th from 10 am to the start of the service. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Boiling Springs, PA. Pallbearers will be: Sam Cramer, Will Eisele, Matthew Good, David Moffitt Sr., James Moffitt and Ryan Moffitt.
