Fatimah S. Pennington, age 30, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020, while at home.  She was the beloved mother of Elijah.

Fatimah was born on April 17, 1990, in Millington, Tennessee, the daughter of Lloyd H. and Audrey C. Pennington. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jamila Pennington.

As the youngest child of five in a military family, Fatimah attended schools in San Diego, California, Pensacola, Florida, Whidbey Island, Washington and Lemoore, California.  She obtained her high school diploma at Southwestern High School in Hanover Pennsylvania in 2008.  She furthered her education by taking classes at Central Pennsylvania's Community College in Gettysburg (HACC).

Fatimah was a loving mother and cherished her only son, Elijah.  She had a bright and engaging personality, with a robust and endearing laugh.  She was outgoing, affectionate, possessed an entertaining sense of humor and was well-known for her bear hugs.  Fatimah treasured spending time with family and friends and had a passion and open heart for people.  She loved animals, cosmetology, fashion, Caribbean culture, dancing and music.

Fatimah leaves to cherish her memory her son, Elijah Francis; her parents, Lloyd Pennington and Audrey Pennington; two brothers, Khaliq Pennington and Rahim Pennington; sister, Nailah Pennington; six aunts, Sabrina, Taheerah, Sharon, Veronica, Victoria, and Candrea; four uncle; Andrew, Nashid, Coty and Samuel; four nieces, Jada, Muniyrah, Takai, and Raafiya; three nephews, Khaliq, Kai, Bashir, and a host of relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate Fatimah's life will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at 11:00 am, at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory in Hanover, Pennsylvania.  A time for sharing memories with the family and for viewing will begin at 9:00 am until the start of the service.  Due to COVID-19 regulations, masks are required.  If you are unable to attend in person, we invite you to join us online as we livestream (the link is above).  Interment will be at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Hanover.  The pallbearers will be Khaliq Pennington, Rahim Pennington, Samir Abdul-Haqq, Cosmos Francis, Khaliq R. Pennington and Leah Crump.

In lieu COVID-19 the family will not accommodate with a Repass.
