Frances N. "Sis" (Winters) Barr, 97, of Hanover entered into God's eternal care on Monday, October 3, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of the late James C. "Jim" Barr who passed away on August 31, 2006.

Born July 27, 1925 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Oscar C. and Alta (Wildosen) Winters.

Mrs. Barr was a graduate of Eichelberger High School, and a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Broadway.  She was also an avid cook, and was especially renowned for her rhubarb pie, Christmas cookies and fruit cake.  Additionally, she enjoyed reading.

Frances is survived by her nephew, Daniel L. Winters of Hanover, her niece, Carolyn "Cubby" Conrad of Hanover, her nephew, Galen Richard of Hanover and a sister-in-law, Sarah "Dolly" Winters.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar C. Winters, Jr. and Martin P. Winters, her sister, Mary C. Winters and her nephew, Donald M. Winters.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Frances N. "Sis" Barr will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 7 ^th at Rest Haven Cemetery, 310 Westminster Ave. in Hanover with Deacon Jan Davis officiating.
