Obituary

Frederick E. Clark, 86, of Hanover, PA, passed away on November 7, 2024, at Kingston Court Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Nina G. (Ginter) Clark. Born on August 3, 1938, in Waynesboro, PA, Fred was the son of the late Lewis H. Clark and Mary L. (Tressler) Clark.

Fred is survived by his daughter, Sharon M. Bollinger, and his brother, David N. Clark, both of Hanover, as well as nephews Doug Clark (wife Rhonda) and Daniel Clark (wife Diana).

Fred was an honor graduate of Eichelberger High School, Class of 1957. He enjoyed photography, bird watching, and rockhounding. He was a past member of the York Rock and Mineral Club, the Franklin County Rock and Mineral Club, the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies, and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.

Fred was a life member of Friendship Fire Company No. 1 of Pennville, now known as Hanover Area Fire & Rescue. He was also a member of the Firefighters Association of York County and the Fireman's Association of Pennsylvania.

An avid Civil War historian, Fred was a member of the Civil War Preservation Trust, Friends of Gettysburg, the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania, and the Gettysburg Civil War Roundtable. He was a dedicated member and past Camp Commander of Gettysburg Camp 112, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and served as a Camp Council member. Fred was also part of the Gettysburg Blues Honor Guard of the Sons of Veterans Reserve.

Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Gettysburg Camp 112, SUVCW" at 53 East Middle Street, Gettysburg PA 17325.
