Gordon Harper, Jr., 84, of East Berlin PA. formerly of Reisterstown MD, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 surrounded by family at UPMC Memorial in York. He was the loving husband of Jean E. (Burgan) Harper; together they shared 58 years of marriage.
Born September 1, 1937 in Baltimore MD, he was a son of the late Glenn G., Sr. and Irma R. (Hitchens) Harper.
Gordon enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, boating, woodworking, Drum Corp, crossword puzzles, reading books and spending time on his computer.
In addition to his wife, Gordon is survived by his children, Victor S. Harper of East Berlin, Jeanna Harper Tolentino and her husband Michael of Hanover, Gregory A. Harper and his wife Samantha of Abingdon, MD, Jennifer L. Shirk and her husband C. Edward of Hanover; seven grandchildren, Anthony G. Harper, Nicholas E. Shirk, Reagan A. Harper, Clayton T. Shirk, Jack G. Harper, Savana H. Tolentino, Dominick M. Tolentino; one great grandchild, Kalli E. Harper; many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by a sister, N. Jean Kesler and a brother, Robert W. Harper.
There will be no public viewing. A Celebration of Life and internment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Please check www.wetzelfuneralhome.com for updated service time and date.
