Gary Allen Boyers, Jr., 49 of Hanover passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022.

Born July 9, 1972 in Hanover, He was a son of Yvonne M. (Kress) Boyers and the late Gary A. Boyers, Sr.

Mr. Boyers was a graduate of Hanover High School, and went on to serve for 32 years as a dedicated employee of the Hanover YMCA.  He was well known as a film enthusiast, especially Star Wars and Star Trek, and he had an impressive collection of films on both VHS and DVD.  He was also a LEGO Master, Hess Truck Collector and talented Texas Holdem player.  Most of all, Gary is fondly remembered as a kind soul who always helped others.

In addition to his mother, Gary is survived by his grandmother, Dorothy A. Kress of Hanover, niece, Marissa J. Filson and her husband, Caleb of Charlottesville, NC, great-nieces Jobii and Alba, as well as many loving aunts, uncles and extended family.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jamie M. Boyers.

A funeral service to celebrate Gary's life will be held on Friday, February 4 ^th at 12 noon at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover with Deacon Tom Aumen officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be at the funeral home on Thursday, February 3 ^rd from 10am until 8pm, and again on Friday from 11am until the start of the service.
