George Frank Fuhrman, 75, of Dover, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023 at WellSpan York Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born July 27, 1947 in McSherrystown, he was the son of the late Laverne Fuhrman and Doris (Walker) Fuhrman Barnhart and Clarence L. Barnhart.

George served in the U.S. Army and was a welder.  He worked at D&M, West York, YEP, Manchester and retired from Johnson Controls, York.  George was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Izaak Walton League of America, York Chapter 67; he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and bird watching.

He is survived by Lisa M. (Hale) Fuhrman, York; children, Holly Klein and husband Korey, York, Kiaya Reichert and husband Don, York, Michael Fuhrman and wife Nicole, Littlestown, Sandi Padgett and husband Fred, Hanover, Adam Fuhrman and wife Tracy, Glen Burnie, MD and Robert Polson, Oklahoma; brothers, Robert Barnhart and wife Kathy, Abbottstown, Dave Barnhart and wife Wanda, Abbottstown and Barry Fuhrman and wife Theo, Florida; 10 grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Barnhart.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 7PM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with Pastor Kevin Orewiler officiating.  The family will receive friends and share memories from 6 PM until the start of the service at the funeral home.
