Gerald L. Strevig, Sr., 84 of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at UPMC Hanover Hospital.

Born July 7, 1939 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Stewart L. and Charlotte C. (Wink) Strevig.

Gerald was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his work. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who deeply cherished his time spent with family. His life was marked by hard work and perseverance, evident in his lifelong commitment to farming. Alongside farming, he contributed several years of service at Maryland Cup in Owings Mills, MD. Gerald found joy and peace living at Lake Anna in Virginia for many years before returning to his roots in Hanover.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories, survived by his son, Gerald L. "Gerry" Strevig, Jr. and wife Darlene of Hanover, and his son-in-law, Robert Klingenberg of Mineral, VA. His life was further enriched by many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.

Gerald was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane M. Klingenberg, and a sister, Barbara L. Hahn, joining them in eternal rest.

Honoring Gerald's wishes, there will be no public viewing or services. A private burial will take place at St. David's Cemetery in Hanover, allowing his family to bid a personal farewell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Gerald can be made to the Resident Life Enrichment Endowment Fund at Homewood at Plum Creek, 425 Westminster Ave., Hanover, PA 17331, a gesture that would honor his spirit of community and care.
