Gladys E. (Musselman) Pittinger, 97 of Hanover passed away at Hanover Hall on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.  She was the beloved wife of the late Paul M. Pittinger, Sr. who passed away September 2, 2013; together they shared 71 years of marriage.

Born July 16, 1924 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Mabel G. (Kretz) Musselman.

Gladys was a graduate of Eichelberger High School.  She worked at Carlisle Shoe and Boden Shoe before retiring in 1964.  Her greatest joy was hosting her family every Sunday for get-togethers.

Mrs. Pittinger is survived by 2 children: Randy L. Pittinger of Hanover and Scott A. Pittinger and his wife, Robin of Hanover; daughter-in-law, Donna Pittinger of Hanover; son-in-law, John Butler of Phoenix, MD; 7 grandchildren: Stacey Dresner, Robin Scannell, Paul M. Pittinger III, Brad Pittinger, Danielle Ambrosius, Randall Pittinger and Brittany Luckenbaugh, as well as 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 children: Paul M. Pittinger, Jr. and Barb Butler, as well as 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Gladys Pittinger will be held at 2pm on Friday, September 24 th , 2021 at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover with Rev. E. Robert Burkhart officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Friday from 1pm until the start of the service at the funeral home.
