Gordon J. "Gordy" Dubs, 89 of Hanover passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 21, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of 66 years to Katherine E. (Krebs) Dubs.

Born July 20, 1934 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Winnemore S. and M. Arlene (Markle) Dubs.

Gordy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957.  He then began his 37 year career with Eisenhart's Wall Coverings, serving in many different roles and retiring as Operations Manager in 1994.  In addition to his dedicated career, he served for 6 years as Consistory Treasurer at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hanover and South Western School Board for 6 years.  In his free time, Gordy was an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as a very talented woodworker.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Dubs is survived by two children: Joel Gordon Dubs and wife Jane of Greensboro, NC and Jane Lynne Scull and husband Jerry of Lancaster; five grandchildren: Jessica Sims and  husband Ben of Greensboro, NC, Jacob Dubs and fiancé Alexis of Germantown, TN, Ian Stambaugh and wife Meeghan of Hanover, PA, Corey Brooks of Pittsburgh and Chandler Scull and companion Daniel of Pittsburgh; five great-grandchildren: Nolan and Finn Sims and Martha, Hattie and Isla Stambaugh as well as one cousin-in-law, Sue Miller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cousin, Lee Miller.

A graveside service to celebrate Gordy's life will be held in private at his place of rest in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hanover.
