On September 13, 2024, Gregory "Butch" R. Myers, 76, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving wife and family. Butch will be remembered for his strong beliefs, generosity, and outstanding courage. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Groupe Myers of 46 years.

Butch was born February 28, 1948, to the late John R. and Anna M. (Harbaugh) Myers. He graduated from South Western High School in 1966. Following graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country proudly.

In addition to his wife Mary, Butch is survived by his brother Jeffrey A. Myers and wife Sandy of Hanover, half brother Curtis Strausbaugh and wife of Loganville, niece Monica Martin and husband Todd of Hanover, nephew Derek Myers and wife Crissy of Littlestown, his aunt Myrna Gulliford of New York, and cousins. Butch was preceded in death by two half siblings, Johnny Myers and Jo Ann Bownaze.

Butch was a loyal employee to Buchart-Horn for 40 plus years working as a Project Manager. He oversaw projects such as high schools, sewer plants and colleges, from start to completion.

In his spare time, Butch enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, traveling with his wife to Maryland, Arizona, California, Canada, Mexico and Jamaica, as well as multiple cruises to the Caribbean. Pool time with his family was most cherished.

Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate Butch's life will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331. Visitation and time to share memories with the family will be from 10:00-11:00 AM. Service with Pastor Kevin Orewiler officiating at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Marburg Memorial Gardens with the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard presenting military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Butch's name to SpiriTrust Lutheran – The Village at Utz Terrace, 2108 Utz Terrace, Hanover, PA 17331.
