Harold Joseph Sanders, Jr., 81, entered into God's eternal care on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Maryland. He was the devoted husband of Debra K. (Musser) Sanders, with whom he shared 33 loving years of marriage.
Born on September 14, 1944, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Harold J. Sanders and Alma B. (Crites) Sanders.
A 1962 graduate of North Carroll High School, Harold dedicated 46 years of faithful service to Black & Decker before retiring. Throughout his career, he was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and unwavering commitment to providing for his family.
A man of deep faith, Harold was a longtime member of St. David's Lutheran Church in Hanover. He found great joy in the outdoors and treasured the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, caring for his horses, attending tractor shows, and had a lifelong appreciation for John Deere tractors. Above all, Harold cherished time spent with his family, especially gathering for family reunions and making lasting memories with those he loved.
Surviving, in addition to his beloved wife, Debra, are his brother, Thomas R. Sanders and his wife, Hope; his four children, Jennifer Stewart, Christy Smith and her husband, Duane, of New Oxford, Layle Lefever of New Oxford, and Rachel Lovell of York. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Taylor Bennett, Gabriel Fennell, Ashley Smith, Nicholas Smith, Brittney Bair, Dustin Moffitt, Keilah Moffitt, Aram Moffitt, Aimée Lefever, Katelyn Reuter, and Lindsey Dutterer. He is also survived by many cherished great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Stanley Combs officiating. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a time of viewing from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow in St. David's Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas R. Sanders, Gabriel Fennell, Duane Smith, Matt Shipley, Wayne Sanders, and Allen Bare.
