Langknecht, Jr.

Henry L. "Hank" Langknecht, Jr., 90 of Hanover passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. He was the loving husband, for 34 years, of Sandra J. (Enders) "Sandy" Langknecht.
Born May 24, 1930 in Rochester, NY, he was a son of the late Henry L., Sr. and Dorothy E. (Luttrell) Langknecht.
Hank was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hanover. He enjoyed attending Bible studies at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church in New Hope, PA. Later, he started and ran a bible study at Utz Terrace in Hanover. Hank also loved to sing and was in a number of choirs over his lifetime. A dedicated employee, Hank served for 32 years at Aramark as a purchasing manager in food service, retiring as President of Woodhaven Foods Division in December of 1995. Hank also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and in his earlier years, woodworking.
In addition to his wife, Sandra, Mr. Langknecht is survived by two sons: Henry J. Langknecht and his wife, Shirla of Great Falls, VA and Michael Langknecht and his wife, Stacey of Montague, MA; three stepchildren; Joanne E. Smith and her husband, Perry of Gettysburg, David W. Nelson of Holland, PA and Ann Marie Oudshoorn and her husband, Nico of Miramar, FL, as well as 5 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Hank's life will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at First United Methodist Church; 200 Frederick St. in Hanover with Rev. Gregory A. Rapp officiating. The family will receive friends to share memories and express condolences from 10:00am until the time of the service Wednesday at church. Final committal will be in St. Paul's Dubs Cemetery, Hanover.
